She Crashed into a Parked Car

You won’t believe what she says!

BIRMINGHAM, UK — A bizarre incident unfolded this week when a woman riding a stolen bicycle collided with a parked car and then attempted to blame the vehicle for the crash, according to West Midlands Police.

Witnesses say the woman, identified as Priya Shah, 32, lost control of the bike while riding down Sutton Street in central Birmingham and smashed directly into a black Mercedes-Benz parked legally on the roadside. The car, valued at more than £40,000, is owned by local resident Edward “Ed” Williams, 41.

Instead of accepting fault, Shah reportedly began shouting that the car had “moved into her path” despite being stationary. Onlookers claim she called police herself, insisting that the driver — who wasn’t even inside the vehicle — was responsible for her accident.

“She was screaming at the top of her lungs, saying the car jumped out at her,” said one bystander. “But it was parked the whole time. People couldn’t believe what they were hearing.”

When officers arrived, the situation escalated as Shah allegedly threatened to sue the car’s owner for damages. Investigators quickly determined the bicycle had been stolen earlier that morning, and Shah was taken into custody.

West Midlands Police confirmed Shah was arrested on suspicion of theft, public nuisance, and filing a false report. She suffered only minor scrapes from the crash.

The Mercedes sustained scratches and a dented bumper, which Williams described as “infuriating.”

“I was inside having a cup of tea when police knocked on my door,” Williams said. “Next thing I know, I’m being accused of hitting someone when my car never moved an inch.”

Authorities say Shah remains under investigation and could face further charges.
